It was a very interesting tutorial, and since London was lockdown again to the Christmas holidays, Filipe was already back in Paris. So during this tutorial, Filipe also showed me the Paris Tower, haha, which was really fun.
To cut to the chase, Filipe also gave me another challenge.
1. try to add the effects of light pollution on the map.
2. try to add sound to the final presentation of the project.
In the last week, following Filipe's advice, I felt that my project had been enriched, so after some research, I found some of the effects of light pollution on the natural environment and marked them on the map. At the same time, I also found some areas not affected by light pollution, and I also drew them on the map with pictures. Finally, I added some sounds, which get louder the closer you get to those areas with high light pollution. So as the viewer explores the map, they not only receive the stimulus of sound and light. They will also be able to compare the causes and effects of light pollution. At the same time, the viewer can see how spectacular and beautiful the unpolluted sky really is through some images.
The above information shows the ecological impact of light pollution (birds, turtles, insects), as well as some of the night skies in areas with high light pollution (Shanghai) and those without (Chile, Sahara, Alps, Australia, Yellowstone National Park, USA).
This week I finished the last version of the computer demo and next I will be thinking about how to use the projector and LIDAR to complete the final project. Going from mouse to touch is another big step and I still have a lot of work to do.
