This semester, I began to try to record my work with the method of a blog. Although this method was recommended by my tutor before, I never used it. Until I saw in this semester's submission that I was required to blog to record the progress of unit 2.1 and Unit 2.2 (it seems I had to). Maybe this is a nice experiment for me, even though I'm not quite familiar with the online blogging platform.

This week I started the course on the Human in a crisis, and in the first session I learned about the Anthropocene, the idea of the Anthropocene, and it is the first time I have heard of this term. But I am interested in. The term Anthropocene suggests that: (i) the earth is moving away from the current geological epoch of the Holocene, (ii) Human activity is the main cause of the end of this Holocene epoch, that is, man has become a global geological force itself. Since its introduction, the Anthropocene has been widely accepted in the global change research community and is now occasionally mentioned in mass media articles on climate change or other global environmental issues. However, the term remains informal.

For me, I think the Anthropocene contains not only the change of environment, but it can also mean that the society as a whole under the influence of human changes, I think the influence of human activities on the earth is so large that we may live in a world that we created. Also, this world is full of technology, various technology. Human beings have destroyed the original geological features, ecological environment and species diversity of the earth for better survival. Such as the increase of urbanization. While human beings are exploring the planet we live on, they are also destroying the earth on which we live.

Reading

This week, I have also read some articles about The concept of Anthropocene. The article Anthropocene: Conceptual and Historical Perspectives has helped me a lot in understanding the term of Anthropocene, Wikipedia is also included (although it's not a great research site), but I think Wikipedia is also a better way for me to better understand the concept of Anthropocene. There are also some articles explaining the term Anthropocene. I think the Anthropocene is more about the relationship between human beings and the environment, but in fact, it may be about the discussion of the whole social problem, which I will research in my future study.

What I learned this week

1. Concepts of the Anthropocene and understanding of the term.

2. Since unit 2.1 will be completed in the form of a film, I began to learn software about video editing. Such as AE, FCP.
