This week I devoted to studying of unit 2.1 the output in the form of film, this is a video work, how to put my previous researches and show them in a video is a big challenge for me, I have no research and reading in this week, I am more reviews the previous research on the subject of the Anthropocene and reviews the previous research I found in some link. Finally, I determine the theme: "Anthropocene and human extinction." As I mentioned last week about the idea of video production, I am going to montage disaster movies to present my topic, because I seem not to think of a better way to present my topic so far. Besides, for me, I think the most important part of a video is to have reasonable background music to set off. This week, I conducted research on background music and finally determined several choices of some background music. I also have seen some disaster theme movie review, because I have to extract some useful lens from these films and montage them into my final video, I think the lens should be related to all kinds of a disaster such as an earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption and a series of natural disasters. Maybe I will watch more disaster-themed sci-fi movies to enrich my videos, which I think I will probably do over the Easter holidays.
I did some research on the films about the disaster: 2012, Aftershock, Independence Day, San Andreas, Deep Impact, Titanic, Imposible, The Day, After Tomorrow, The Wandering Earth. Some of The films were about natural disasters, some were about the alien invasion. To sum up, these films ultimately lead to the destruction or the end of the human race. I think by mixing and cutting scenes from these films, I can better illustrate my vision of the Anthropocene leading to the destruction of humanity. I will continue to explore this idea in depth over the next few weeks.
