Creative writing
I've been taking online courses at home for a month. It feels like time flies. Lydia's World Building session is coming to an end. This week's workshop continues the unfinished group assignment from last week. Our group selected the final topic -Robots/AI WEAPONS and combined it with vertical farms and the dark web (See images). Incredibly, with the support of these words and connections, I managed to write a short story in a very short time (though the story was never finished). So Lydia's method is very effective.
Our group wants to discuss the crisis of AI weapons, and our other scenarios are vertical agriculture and the dark web. In my story, my protagonist is an AI robot who lives in a world where robots and humans coexist. He does not know his name, age, or gender. Everything about him is set by his managers (the dark Web). On this day, he is a farmer by profession, and today is his birthday. In fact, it was used for the dark web. Today he's just another guy trying to assassinate Cecilia, another robot working for the dark Web. They were all programmed to be more like human beings to have this ordinary, extraordinary day. This may be a farce, I have no idea. Perhaps their activities, broadcast live on the media, are nothing more than a reality show for human entertainment.
As for my creative writing, I have already figured out the outline of the story. Also, this was my first attempt at writing a short story. My story is mainly about a team that went to explore Mars before the earth was destroyed and came back to earth to help survivals to rebuild human civilization. The main purpose of this story is to remind people of the importance of protecting the environment by fictionalizing a future.
The body of the novel is divided into two parts. The first part is the early stages of a new humanity, where the successor learns the truth about the world from a member of a scientific expedition. The second part is a shared perspective on the new human being who will be in harmony with the world after thousands of years.
About the unit 2.2 project
This week I completely changed my idea, in my research I learned some ideas about abandoned technology, and I learned that extreme climate conditions do not only imply changes in our living environment but they also indicate changed social, economic and political relationships. Therefore, the impact of the environment is also multifaceted since I am discussing the "new world" needs to be rebuilt, the rise of forgotten or abandoned technologies. What I'm trying to convey is that through this vision of mine I'm asking people to reflect on modern technology, the impact that technology has on people, even the domination. In the tutorial with Caitlin, Caitlin also asked me a lot of questions to help me refine my idea. "What is the reason technologies become popular again?" "Why do certain technologies come back over others?" "How does this idea speak of utopia/futures that are more sustainable?"
