A quick reflection on this week
This week, the Final Major Project has arrived, in Wesley's session, he explained how the FMP proposal should be completed and guided us to write the Topline in the proposal. In my opinion, Topline is a very important sentence in proposal writing. It can help the audience to understand the idea the designer wants to express and the medium to be used. I also think that topline is similar to the concept of a sentence in the first paragraph of the thesis, which is a sentence that concludes the whole article.
About the UNIT 2.2 project
Refreshing my Idea on Unit 2.2:
My topic is about the post-crisis human social imagination, about whether technologies that have been abandoned will make a comeback. What I want to express is to think about the impact of technology on the environment, and on humanity itself.
About technology, technology is a major influence in today's society. I start with the impact of technology on the humanitarian crisis to discuss the impact of technology on the human environment is also undeniable, such as pollution, ecological balance, nuclear energy, population explosion. While people are also experimenting with newer technologies to protect the environment, man's reliance on technology is also undeniable.
Why is abandoned technology will make a comeback? This is a vision I have for the future. The hazards of technology were discussed earlier. I envision after experiencing the crisis of technology on the human environment. Humans may be rethinking how they use technology. In addition, the world may be related to Thomas Moore's utopian world, this ideal society may be based on the existence of agriculture and crafts. I'm trying to respond to the environmental impact of technology by reinventing the craft.
However, in this week's tutorial with Wesley, Wesley countered my point about crafts may come back to the future human life, by arguing that I should pay more attention to human choices than technology. He said there are old technologies that still produce a lot of pollution into the environment. So I should focus more on technologies that are discarded but are equally helpful to humanity. Or rather, more focused on human choice, the emergence or disappearance of technology trends to create different views, some thinking it's good and some thinking it's bad. For me, I also agree with Wesley that he gave advice that I had not noticed in my research, Wesley's advice was helpful and enlightening to me, and I will be reconsidering the form of my Unit 2.2 in the coming time in light of the advice Wesley gave.
